– AAALAC Website
CRI’s Laboratory Animal Unit has been accredited by AAALAC since 2010. This involves a site visit by international experts in animal care and use for research and thorough review of the facilities and animal use program, providing a level of assurance that the animal care and use program meets the internationally-accepted reference standard. Accreditation also involves an annual report submitted to AAALAC related to any protocol violations; animal use not approved by the IACUC; protocol suspensions; changes in facility size, location, or name; changes in IACUC composition or members; and other changes in the animal care and use program.
